Andrea Langhi has more than 30 years' experience in designing more than 600 public premises, including bars, restaurants, discos, lounges and concept stores, as well as residential and industrial design projects. The Andrea Langhi Design studio is renowned for its multidisciplinary and strategic approach, which combines aesthetics and functionality with a precise market orientation.
Main Areas of Expertise
Interior Design
Over the years, Andrea Langhi has designed iconic venues such as Byblos Milano, El Carnicero (Milan and Ibiza), Terrazza Duomo 21 and Verso in Milan, Sali&Tabacchi in Reggio Emilia and Setai in Bergamo. The design of each project responds to specific criteria in order to attract different targets and create spaces that are not only aesthetically relevant but also functional and pro-active.
Format Design
Specialising in format development for chains and franchises, Langhi has created and renewed the image of nationally and internationally renowned brands such as Botega Café Cacao, C House Cofee Shop, Birra&Brace, FancyToast, Flower Burger and Pizzikotto. Among the most noteworthy are the shop renovation of La Piadineria and the renovation of Autogrill Villoresi 1958 one of the most iconic buildings of the Autogrill group. Among the most recent projects, the most important is certainly The Plein Hotel Milano, a 5-star hotel realised in collaboration with the fashion designer Philipp Plein, in which no less than 5 diferent restaurant formats have also been developed, from the Asian Sukaru Ba to the vegan Jungle de Plein.
Industrial Design
Furniture projects, such as the Plexy Baroque line of lamps, initially conceived for individual rooms, have become iconic objects exhibited at the Salone del Mobile in Milan under the brand name 'Contemporanea_mente'. These furnishings are characterised by the innovative use of Plexiglas and the modern reinterpretation of classic elements.
Communication and Training
Langhi teaches advanced courses for the HoReCa sector, including the Master HoReCa Workshop and the seminars Hotel Labos - Architecture & Marketing, in collaboration with the Milano Business School. His projects and articles have been published in international trade magazines, and he has actively contributed to the dissemination of best practices in design for public premises.
Acknowledgements
In 2019, Andrea Langhi was awarded the FoodCommunity Award for Best Practice Restaurant Design in recognition of excellence in restaurant space design.
